Small business tax
Northline Tax Advisors PLLC prepares small business tax returns and plans every quarterly payment for owners in Seattle, Washington.
Federal and Washington returns for sole proprietors, LLCs, S corporations and partnerships, with each estimated payment calculated before it is due.
Your year, in order.
Every date a small business tracks over the next twelve months, soonest first, for calendar-year filers. A date that falls on a weekend or a legal holiday moves to the next business day.

Form 941 is due on the last day of the month after each quarter; a business that deposited all of its payroll tax on time has ten more days to file. Confirm yours with us. The Washington Department of Revenue assigns each business its own filing frequency, and those dates go on the same calendar.
What this covers
A small business tax year has more than one deadline. Owners make four estimated payments. Businesses with employees file a payroll return each quarter. One annual return closes the year, and its date depends on how the business is organized.
We keep all of these dates on one calendar and work each one backward. Ten days before a payment you get the amount, the date and how to pay it, in one message. When the year turns unusual, you hear from us sooner.
Washington has no personal income tax, but businesses file state returns with the Department of Revenue, including Business and Occupation tax. Those dates go on the same calendar.
How it works
- A 20-minute call about how the business earns money and who is on payroll
- Last year's return and this year's books, read before we propose anything
- A written calendar of every date that applies to you, each rolled to the next business day
- Each estimated payment calculated and sent to you ten days early
- The annual return prepared, reviewed with you and filed
Questions owners ask
Which return does my business file?
It depends on how the business is organized. Sole proprietors and single-member LLCs report on Schedule C with their personal return. Partnerships and S corporations file their own return, due March 15 for calendar-year businesses.
Can you take over from my current preparer?
Yes. We start with the last two filed returns and your current books, then tell you what we found before we change anything.
I have not made any estimated payments this year. What now?
Tell us on the first call. We work out what you owe so far, how the underpayment penalty is figured and the cost of paying now compared with waiting until you file.
Do you file the Washington returns too?
Yes. We prepare and file the returns the Department of Revenue assigns you, monthly, quarterly or annually, and add each date to your calendar.
How are fees set?
A flat fee per return and a fixed monthly fee for payment planning. Both are quoted in writing before work starts.
